Children's Ministry
|
Children are important at Mount View. Our children are the church of today as well as tomorrow. We believe in discipling them in Christ. We accomplish this by surrounding them with God filled men and woman who will teach them the love of Jesus Christ by example as well as through instructions. There are several opportunites throughout the week for our children to be taught how God is relevant to their lives.
Sunday Morning
On Sunday mornings, we offer a class for each age group, from first grade through sixth grade. Girls and boys are in separate classes for grades 3 through 6. These classes are designed to teach principles of the Bible. The younger children may listen to a Bible study and the older children may learn through a lesson plan that includes activities and a study outline with class discussion.
Sunday Afternoon
The Children's Choir practices every Sunday afternoon at 4:45. The Children's Choir perform several special programs a year and sing in various Sunday night worship services during the year.
Wednesday Nights
There is a supper every night at 5:45pm and afterwards there are classes for all ages.
Other
Other activities for children include Vacation Bible School, Christian summer ccamps sponsored by Southern Baptist organizations, quarterly fun activities (like Putt-Putt and Skating), seasonal activities such as our Annual Fall Festival, Block Party, Easter Egg Hunt and Party. Again this summer we will be having our "Terriffic Tuesdays". Starting in June every Tuesday Brother Jeff Waldrop will be having a Devotion time with the children and then a fun activity such as a tour of the Golden Flake Company in Birmingham, a day of fun in the sun at the Splash Pad at Delano Park, a day of playing Putt-Putt, and other fun activities thoughout the summer.
