From the Pastor
" For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transformed us to the kingdom of His beloved Son" Colossians 1:13
Three and a half years ago, we packed our belongings and moved to glorious Caddo, Alabama. Caddo is home, I can't imagine living anywhere else. But for a time, the adjustment was hard. Everything was new and unfamiliar, we felt out of place...out of the loop. It was like we had moved to a different country, we didn't know the land...roads...the places to shop, eat and even the vernacular like "White sauce". We needed to feel like we fit, like Caddo was our home. We sought to grow roots. Roots establish your right to be where you are. Roots make you feel grounded...like you belong. Roots make you comfortable.
Twenty something years ago, I made another move. I was transferred from the Kingdom of Darkness to the Kingdom of God. Everything about God's Kingdom is different; our priorities...our relationships...our finances...our habits. There was a time when the adjustment to living according to this new Kingdom was too hard...it seemed like I no longer fit in this world...I felt different...out of place...out of the loop. Living in this world out of the loop is sometimes hard, so I sought to fit in. I grew roots in the soil of His Kingdom. I wonder how deep your roots have grown into the soil of this world? Have we traded comfort for consecration? We are called to be set apart for God,s purpose. To be grounded in Him. Check your roots...
In His Righteousness,
Brother Jeff
